Immanuel
in Mission and Ministry
IMMANUEL
IS AN ACTIVE COMMUNITY OF FAITH
In addition to our regular Sunday worship and educational programs Immanuel
offers a variety of opportunities for Christian fellowship and service.
A prayer chain responds to prayer requests within the church and community.
We are active in service to the needy through our food pantry, Meals on
Wheels, and the Annandale Christian Community for Action. We assist in
the support of a missionary in Tonga ( Bob May) and encourage the involvement of our
members in volunteer mission work in other countries through UMVIM.
We are active in the global
ministries of the United Methodist Church.
As
a special mission emphasis we have committed ourselves to reach out to
and to welcome the unchurched children of our community. We believe that
all children are God's children and that God calls the church to embrace
them with special love and concern. All are welcome in our Sunday School,
worship, and fellowship regardless of parental involvement. In the name
of Jesus Christ, the church throws wide her arms and says "let the children
come to me."
